I was born in Birmingham, and for thirty four years taught in several different primary schools in the city. I achieved a Master’s Degree in Educational Management and eventually became an acting head teacher.  I then decided on a career change and trained to become an accredited Humanist Celebrant with Humanists UK.

I now work full time in Worcestershire and Birmingham writing and presenting non-religious weddings, baby namings, and funerals. I love my job, meeting people, working with them and being a part of their special celebrations.

I'm a mentor for other celebrants training with Humanists UK and have previously been secretary of the Birmingham Humanists group, a member of the Diversity Group at St Mary's Hospice and a member of the Multi-Faith Care Team at Birmingham Airport.

I'm a mother to two adult children and have two grandchildren who are growing up very quickly!

My leisure interests include dancing - Argentinian Tango. I enjoy travelling around the world exploring different cultures. I'm interested in all aspects of art, being a patron of the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham and one very cold day several years ago I took part in a project organised by Spencer Tunick to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Lowry in Salford!!
